Default Difference between front and rear abs sensors

Hi folks,

Swapping the rear beam over but can't get the ABS sensors out of the old arms, the metal case is seized in the arm and too flimsy to withstand any abuse trying to get it out.

I'm in a bit of a rush trying to get an MOT the next day or two and I wondered - I can maybe get hold of front sensors from a nice man I know, are these usable in the rear position? What's the difference? I though maybe the orientation of the pickup is different?

Alternatively, do you *need* the metal casing, or can they still work if pulled out with the metal casing left in the arm?

In theory they can come out of the metal casing but they are quite delicate.

To me, the fronts and rears look the same, the difference in part number is the lengths of the cables however I'm sure they'll reach.

worth a punt if you're stuck.
