Post Can i use a non type approved cat on a 2001 saxo?

i have a 2001 saxo and the downpipe on the cat got crushed by me hitting a rock. i was wondering if i would be able to fit a non type approved cat instead of the more expensive type approved one.

i understand they have more of the catalyst in them so it may not pass its mot.

however, do they fit? does it have the hole for the lambda sensor after the catalyst?
