Its not about racking up the highest number of thanks, it about showing appreciation when someone helps you.

I dont think this will result in as much misuse as the rep system, as I think it will encourage members to post dencent replies rather than crap..

I think it should just show how many times you have been thanked, rather than how many thanks you have given out.
