How can you say pred that 6x9's are crap? cos i have a pair and when on their own amp and set to just trebble their brilliant, i also have my door speakers wired directely to the amp and still prefer 6x9's over the door speakers, plus you stated for the 6x9's just dont buy them it would help if you backed yourself up with an explination as to why

Because if you have an sub it produces shit loads of air movements that interfere with 6x9 movements. Basically.

6x9s are bought buy two types of people:

- those who want "more trebble" because the sub is too loud

- those who want "more noise" because they dont want a sub

solution to both points:

- buy a decent (expensive-ish) pair of components and amp them properly

- buy a decent pair of components and amp them properly. then get a pair of mid IB woofers and run them in the parcel shelf

in no circumstance would having 6x9s be an ideal solution

hmmmm try a search on 6x9s

wrong shape for one thing

never see them in a decent set up or demo cars

only decent if your not using a sub

Did you read my post? it appears not

the reason for having mids in the parcel shelf is to provide more / clearer bass than any 6x9s can produce.

and if it's not bass but trebble your after, than a good pair of components up front will always be better than a pair of 6x9s

Tbh people need to go and listen to them in a proper audio shop not halfrauds

and tbh you will be hard pushed to find many 6x9s in proper shops these days, they will always point you to the components
