One of my previous projects went to over 200 pics, and some of my event reports go to the same sort of amount, so more or less unlimited pics is necessary. No problems with the edit feature, just that it will only let me post 20 pics per post.
I think a project section would be good, so we can look at projects all in one thread rather than several threads of pics per car.
Just those two things and it's sorted IMO.

its not that... you still only have the 25 pics limit. but also reading through an entire progress thread (some have 80 pages of mostly garbage posts) is tedious. Which is why when I update my thread I put the newest pics into the first post, which saves the reader wading through the crap... as I'll be honest, I read maybe the first two pages of a thread before getting bored.

Let people post bollocks. if all of the project info is in the first post it doesn't matter does it cos then people who are interested can read about it all in one go, and if they are bored then sift through the rest of the thread.
Perhaps allowing people to delete other peoples posts in their own threads?

i had thought about that alex, but surely that would mean alot of setting up from the admin side of things? having to allow each user to adjust a thread in a set section>

or just have a purely editable first post (which covers the entire progress)... unlimited pics... well... maybe not quite... how many threads do you see with countless shots of the same thing just at different 'arty' angles (take my Formula Student progress thread for example).... put a limit on but largish limit, that should reduce the number of rubbishy useless pics that accompany it

suggestion....
I can increase number of pics allowed per post.
As being discussed in premium forum, if a new section is setup for Premium Project cars, etc... I can make it so that you can open/close your OWN threads... OR I can set it so only you can reply to your OWN posts.
2nd option being a way for you (and you only) to update your project thread... downside is you lose peoples comments.
thoughts?

personally think that removing the posts by others would be good.
As it is an actual project thread, and alot are just full of crap and general conversation which isnt really related to the build itself.

erm... seems like no1 else is about to give imput lol!
just think that having it as an indiviual thread would be good as
A: takes less moderating - constant crap we have removed from there. -eg lots of people trying to get a high post count.
B: the forum has technical sections, so it would promote members to use them more frequently rather than discussing engine work for example in a project thread, If its in a technical section other members may get more benifit from it.

If people are worried about having to scale the millions pages just to view picture progresses then how about making a sort of gallery for each progress thread?

ive increased the limit on images per post...
I do like the idea of a prem project section, where you can close your own threads... any more input though?? (like pulling teeth waiting for replies )

lol good old alex...
another note tho, is that if the starter of the thread can tick a box enabling users to reply / not reply?
this will help in project threads and even how to guides.
im fairly annoyed with userguides that are full up of useless comments to and teh fa ct sometimes the origional starter doesnt group all the information together, hence why i asked Greensaxo to lock my flushing and bleeding of the engine / radiator thread
just my opinion

I like this idea, also it would make me (and others) want to be prem members again. I also like the idea of being able to close your posts so as only the information you want up ie your project is available.
