Looking really good for when it gets full boost then bud, really good figure already, should crack the 400bhp mark easy enough....any plans to up the limiter to widen powerband?? Will be still making power at limiter when it gets 2 bar.

just been discussing that with someone else, its only running standard j4 springs and followers so i set it to 7400 but might move it to 7800
need to know what people run the J4 stuff to ?
ordering a new spring for the wastgate so will be able to turn it up but will have to run it as it is for the pod this weekend

No you can shim the seats of the springs too increase the poundage.
As he's still on hydro's too
Tbh I'll be going uprated with mine not because of revs but because of boost pushing the valves open. Seen it many times.

That doesnt increase the spring rate, it will however increase the seated force on the valve/seat. You would also have to check for spring travel to see how much you could shim the spring.

Seen alot if mappers not using any knock detection now
My mapper uses a lumenition set up.. Expensive and hard to find though,
Edit, well they were last time I looked.. Some on eBay and tweaks sell them too by the look of it

Phormula KS4..... I had the KS3 for my scooby a while back they do a whole Tunerkit inc get cans for about £400 really good piece of kit when dialed in, other option old school, piece of 8mm copper pipe flattened and split at one end so it can be bolted to the head, block, then some silicon hose from it into the car, then a set of ear defenders and a y piece... drill a hole in each of the defenders, insert a 10 inch length of hose into each, join together with the Y then connect the piece from the car to it homemade stethoscope works a treat.... but you look a tit driving around with them on lol

Quite a lot of modern cars can display a real time knock count from the ecu with the right logging software, so det cans arent always needed, but on the standalone stuff its always best to have knock monitoring gear, det cans are best as they dont need calibrating for normal engine noise ect before use, cant beat hearing it for yourself on every pull imo, advanced ecu's come with knock control built in, but the dta generally it isnt really doable.

Cracking result martin well done mate!
Any idea why power is trailing off at the top end though? Are you running completely stock j4 uppers? Cams etc? With my gt30 power was climbing on the limiter. Yours should too I thought.
I run catcam single springs (not shimmed or owt). Sinus valves and custom cams. Limiter is around 7750 iirc.
Really really pleased with that result for you mate - well done again!

mark not sure what jamie uses apart from just listening for it
Ross its a JP4 ported head with J4 springs and followers and a j4 ex cam and j4 newmand PH3 inlet, it could be the cams that are trailing it off, there on custom timing marks so would love to get it back on the dyno and play with them or maybe get the turbo ex cam (ill see how it does in ians 16v ax when i finish buiilding that), it will still make more when i up the boost but for now im just going to drive it and get some use out of it
oh and next week im off to get the nitrous bottle filled

I bet it's the overlap from that PH3 trailing off the boost. You might actually make more power with stock J4 cams you know. Worth experimenting if you've the dyno time for sure. The cat cams turbo spec cams are good too - they're what I made 400hp+ on and if you've seen that graph power is still climbing hard on the limiter.
Mind you - we're talking pub figures here because with your cars weight adding another 50hp is kinda pointless anyway - I'm not sure it'll be 50hp's "worth" faster whilst you're spinning through the gears

I didn't see what size it was - .63 I presumed?

Im currently using a electronic det can and find it very useful, along with a copper det can as a back up. Just wondering what others use, and it seems the traditional ways are still the best in the aftermarket world. Good to know.

Can't speak for what others use, but the lumenition set up my mapper uses works great, clear and, loud alarm soon as any det occurs, and it runs the same knock sensor as an oe Saxo one, so simple plug and play
I wanted to get one for mine for piece of mind, but last time I looked i could only find stuff in America for £450-600
Tweaks seem to be selling them just shy of £400
But there's one on ebay now for £125, if anyone wants one that's a fucking steal

It is a .63 housing but dont think thats the prob
The ph3 is more or less the same spec as the cat cam turbo inlet, ive got a feeling it might be the exhaust only being 2.5 inch or the exhaust cam not gettting it out as quick as the inlet gets it in
