HDMI Cables
Does it really matter if I buy a Tesco Value HDMI cable or do I get the gold plated one for like a tenner more ?

simple answer - price is based on quality.
One of the HDMI cables that i've got on the downstairs TV cost just over £30 - and thats a mid-range cable.

tesco and asda ones work just as well as the ones that are more... doesn't make a difference imo when playing ps3.

Price doesnt matter really under 1m long. After all the information is just 1's and 0's and gold plated etc doesnt make a difference.

That's almost correct... They do make a difference but not enough to pay the silly prices they want! I'd stick with a cheap £20 lead and be done with it!
I've got both a cheap £5 lead and a £45 lead and tbh they are about the same in quality.

Thing is its digital and a set bandwidth at that. Its not like old analogue signal that would loose quality over cables. With digital its good enough or not. You could use a really shabby cable and it should make no difference as long as its still good enough to get signal from one end to the other. As long as your cable is good enough as in not dropping data it will be much of a muchness with the most expensive cables out there.

All the same, buy the cheapest providing the casing isn't really thin.
