agreed, ive only had a quick play about with logic in a mates studio. confused me as obv ive never used it before
but it seemed pretty easy to pick up given some time, and more importantly, it's a hell of a lot more expandable with more options avaliable than anything else

yeah, on logic its like a click of a button. on most other softwares its a pain to do. thats why i should get logic for producing dance tracks and not cubase!! but its not just a case of getting logic. its a case of spending a grand on a mac.

dubstep has mass emo appeal, its a gayboys jump up.
but if you want to make its start with 140bpm then 2step the drum beat if you know what that is. join the mass trend of easy to make and listen boring shit..

i create all my dubstep on Logic Pro on my mac, its well worth saving to get a decent mac that will last a long time and use the professional programs on it!

the man speaks truth!
real dubstep still and will not ever surface to the commercialism though! which is always great, & it's very different to the crap everyone classes as "dubstep"

fasttracker or madtracker is free but you'll have to find instrument samples on internet to make the music.

get reason and possibly cubase mate... i understand you said cheap or free software that u can use to make dubstep but realistically.. your going to need something like reason or cubase as its already been stated,,,, i prefer these 2 cause i make 4x4 bassline myself and drum and bass aswell and i think reason and cubase is perfect for the job... lots of modulation and envelope control in reason... which is what gives you the warp basses or the crazy wa` wa` wa` warp` that you see in dubstep... also check out youtube and search reason dubstep tutorials or something theres a lot of user guides of how people construct there music... good luck though
