Sony denied there was even a problem with the PS3 and was not warranting them. According to Watchdog there was apparently a inherent flour with PS3 design. The solder joints inside were to small and would fail. Watchdog fixed a few of them on TV by simply heating up the motherboard in a oven and then letting them cool again. However they tended to fail again in short time after. By the sound of thing if your moving your PS3 about a lot or letting it heat and cool a lot by constant use or putting next to window or heater would likely make it fail much sooner. Hopefully they will have fixed the new shape ones though there are already reports of them failing

I have an elite and the worst issue was the noise of the cd drive.
You can now copy games onto the HD so thats solved.

Have to agree there! I bought the 60gb ps3 and sold it 6 months later due to lack of games and online players! Although I felt the build quality was much better than the 360, i'd still go with a 360 any day! Forget the build quality and enjoy it for about a year before it red lights lol! Jokes! It is the better out of the two for games and online player, which at the end of the day is what you are going to use it for

games tend to render better on the 360 ... its an easier platform to produce games for ... as it was the opposite for the ps2 and xbox original...

Thats the thing, some games I install onto the HD from the CD still fuck up. Certain games only work via CD and not the HD.
I keep meaning to send the Xbox off again but cant be arsed to do it again.
Oh btw, my mate misinformed me. Live was FREE for just one weekend lol. Wont be going free next year. Remind me to smack him in the face when I next see him..
