anybody make music?
Hi,
Im looking to get a decent piece of software for my PC.
Something similar, tho not identical to GarageBand or thereabouts.
I realise GarageBand is quite sophisticated, so just looking something to get me started, I realise that i'd need a Mac to fully develop.
Any recommendations?
Cheers

Depends what sort of music you want to make? If its just to start learning how to create FL studio isnt a bad start, But tbh if you do have access to garageband this is that sophsiticated, Programmes like logic and pro tools that i use are industry standard. Others are you could use are reason, cubase, and if you know how to read music/ notation Sibelius is perfect for that.

The music is only as good as the creater...
It doesnt matter what DAW ( fl studio, logic, cubase etc) you use, they are all BASICALY the same and its down to the producer.
Ide say get fl studio. Mainly because its easy to pick up, tons of tutorials about it and its quick to get ideas down.
If you download the trial, the way to get it free is just replacing a certain file in the program files of it Have a search and youll find

Garage band is not sophisticated, in my experience anyway. Echo what others has said anyway, fl studio to learn with. Then move onto reason, not the best for sound quality, but the amount of synths you can make is unreal. Just don't use the presets, as every Tom, Dick and Harry has used them to 'make beats'. Cubase again is good, I prefer it for sequencing however. Then you have logic, a good compromise between the two. Albelton Live is a very good program to use
