Post Burning MP3 CD's

I'm trying to copy music I have on a CD-R disc to another CD disc so I have a copy but the music files are in MP3 format and windows media player won't let me burn the music to library, it just doesn't respond when I click "copy".

I need to back-up this disc somehow and I need them to be in mp3 format how do I do it? Would I need to plug an external cd drive into my computer to acheive this?

Is it a CD with loads of MP3s on, as in way more than a music CD?

If so then it may see it as a data CD rather than music one.

Maybe just try viewing the contents of the disc via My Computer and copying them to your H/D from there. Then just put in a blank disc and burn the disc like a data one.

If that makes sense or helps?!

It's a CD with 45min/1hour long sets of music burned in mp3 so they fit. I've tryed that but it doesn't respond. I did get the music onto my itunes once and onto my ipod but it got deleted can't remember how I did it. Could I maybe do it by linking an external cd drive to my computer and then copying it?
