TIME ATTACK 2016 ROUND 6 SNETTERTON
Here we are at the final round of the 2016 season...
Snetterton my bogie circuit (think about 2014).
After securing a DNF at Croft, I really had to secure some good points at Snett. 11 points was what was required if my closest competitor was to score maximum 15pts....
4am start to the day, arriving at the circuit quite early for once lol.
I was blessed with support from Kev, Jon and Graeme from Kamracing.co.uk also my new work colleague Matt.
SESSION 1 WARM UP
With the circuit being damp, there was no need for a fast lap, I simply wanted to see how the rebuilt engine felt... and it felt pretty flat above 5,000rpm... supercharger belt was slipping (only offering 1bar boost) but I stayed out for a few laps, only laying off full throttle as not wanting to damage the belt...
SESSION 2 PRACTICE
With the charger belt tensioned again (was a new belt that required running in) I headed back out to a dry but cold Snetterton 200...
Full boost but I feel very wobbly in the car, not feeling confident but find a lap time of 1:27.5, some 7tenths quicker than I was in 2015.
This placed me 4th, had this been qualifying or final then the championship would be over!
As I entered the pits I could hear a strange noise...
Vickie and Matt took a look for me and it was the lower coolant hose... it had moved and been caught by the crank pulley bolts.
SESSION 3 QULIFYING
After repairing the coolant hose (RooseMotorsport) it was time for Qually...
Vickie told me to just enjoy myself, so I did...
A few laps In and I'm feeling like I can push on... the car feels really good.
on lap 4 I find a big improvement out of no where! 1:25.593
Lap 6 an improvement again with 1:25.535 then even better with a 1:25.397 but its only good enough for 2nd. Rob Oldman had done a 1:24.606
SESSION 4 THE FINAL
My team gave me so much morale support with a few motivational words as I belt up for the final time in 2016...
On track again for the final time I am very focussed.
lapt times as follows...
out lap
1:59.006
1:46.361
1:30.516
1:25.700
then an improvement from qually with a 1:24.914
RED FLAG, large oil spill into the hairpin.
pit in..
Vickie come over to inform me of my position 2nd, with 10 minutes on the clock when it restarts...
Green flag, session re starts
4 more laps but I cant improve due to traffic before another RED FLAG.
With 6 minutes left on the clock I am still second place, behind Oldman.
I have a few more fast laps once the session starts again only to be spoilt by novice traffic not moving and sitting on the apex of a corner.
once again I find a huge improvement with a 1:24.141
I felt that Oldman couldn't of beaten that, I'm currently 4 seconds quicker than 2015!
But I'm 2nd...
Oldman 1:24.094
Summers :24.141
Kime 1:26.093
13 points in the bag.
bit of comedy here as my bottle prematurely pops...
A bit of fun with the guys from Kamracing.co.uk
So that's the 2016 season come to an end. Its been a tough year with lots of things going on behind the scenes keeping me busy. I am really ready for a bit of time away from the car but I have a plan of action to take over winter...

looking back at the season there have been some real achievements.
