I was ready to "let me google that for you" this thread, but after searching i cant find anything on it either hah.
I had to access it a while ago to reset some of the USB ports, cant remember for the life of me how i dont it though.
Edit: Just had a look in control panel and i remember now. Go into contorl panel and click device manager, you may need to change the control panel view to see this option.

If your wanting to reset ports and delete any settings. Go to device manager (through) control panel, delete usb port/hubs. Click scan for new hardware icon at top, this will reinstall the drivers and reset.

I have a program (VAGCOM lite) and it says to test the program to recognise the USB port. But it only has 4 options to link with, COM1 COM2 COM3 COM4 and when I plug the USB lead from my car into the 3 USB ports on my laptop they are all numbered COM12 COM13 COM14 how do I change the COM?

Device manager > go to the Ports section, you should see your COM's there, drill it down, right click on the COM that your USB thing is assigned to, then go to Port Settings, then click Advanced. You can then change your COM from there. Don't know if you will be able to select the one you need and whether it will work, but that's how you do it.

I'd imagine so, that way you will know which one to alter when it comes up
