Default New TV help..

Looking for a new TV preferably 32" and on most websites and stores, this Samsung TV keeps popping up at £349.99 when most 32" LCD TVs are £400+
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...LE32B450C4WXXU

Just wandering if anyone clued up on LCD TVs can tell me why that Samsung one is cheap. Especially as its Samsung and I thought they're a good make as well.

I got my LG from curry's yesterday and it is a cracker 42" with all the bells and whistles. 200mhz truemotion 3 hdmi sockets, USB socket aswell. Energy saving on it aswell

http://www.avforums.com/forums/lg-ow...hat-hi-fi.html this thread was for the 42" but I don't see it being that much different

Seen they do a 37" but is £450 iirc

You might find it's an older model.

It's discontinued and not full Hi Def but not a bad telly for the price.

I have an older model Samsung 32 in the bedroom which has full HD and freeview and it's a cracker. Paid about £400 for it.

I have no clue about TVs!
Whats full Hi Def mate? Its only gonna be in my room to mostly play PS3 and Xbox on it as I dont watch much TV on it.
If I connect my PS3 and Xbox using the HDMI leads, will they be running in HD and is that anything to do with the full Hi Def thing you're on about?

Pixel resolution: 1366x768

That's the resolution of the tv you linked which means it has 1366 horizontal pixels and 768 vertical. The hi def versions have 1920x1080 which means th epicture is a lot more detailed, which is far better for gaming

Really want to move the xbox into the living room now...

The boys were watching Star wars clone wars today and it was crisp.

Even noticed the difference today when the missus was watching "hand that rocks the cradle"

sky HD only kick out about 720 doesn't it ?

That's the one I have in the bedroom. Use that for freeview and have a Sony bluray player hooked up. Picture is pretty good tbf. If you can afford a little more then the one above is definitely worth a shout

Thats an internet offer though, not keen on ordering one over the net.

May have a gander tomorrow in Comet. Cheers for your help though mate.

Out of interest, does anyone know how much I'd get for a 2 year old 20" Sharp LCD TV, HD ready, Freeview etc. Perfect condition as its never left the same spot in my room.

The samsung you posted B450 Is only 50Hz and 1366x768 Resolution, its there basic range, but its samsung so instantly crap tv IMO, The picture is ok, but the sound Quality is rubbish, If you want that TV i recommend Going to John Lewis £349 With a 5year guarantee where as everywhere else is a one year guarantee

Hope that help,

The tv is entry level but cheap so appeals to alot of people

You can't summise that becaus eit has a Samsung badge it is instantly crap.

They have various levels of TV and the components they use and quality of components varies massively.

The only complaint I have about mine is it's fairly poorly built (as in lightweight) but then again so is every other Sony, Panasonic, LG, etc etc etc
in that price range

Hmm unfortunately all the samsungs we sell at work including the LED have very poor sound quality to them, And then you have an overall comparison to sony toshiba and panasonic these 3 always come out ontop
