this is gonna be a seriously stripped car when its all done! furio with vtr speeds due to no weight
Liking what youve done so far but im not so sure the dash is gonna turn out so good chopping off the ends!?!
Any plans to fit an S engine in the future? obviously when the insurance is less of a problem.
Keep it up!

If the insurance allows it then a vts lump will be in asap
And the dash. Well it's the only way i can get it in now. And for the future is the only way i can remove it to do any work. Don't worry i'll do the best job i can and paint the rivets black

Ok i decided to crack on with the dash today. It turned out surprisingly good. It was a doddle, despite what i had expected.
Anyway here's the pics. I had to remove both the vents to fit the cage.
Now it's just those pesky steering column bolts to do. I don't know if any of you have done them, but if you have you'll understand. They cross thread so easily.
This is the dash after i had cut the ends off. (a get it right or nothing moment.)
Then this is the dash fitted. kind of. The center is fulled bolted up, I have a plan for the joints.
I'm gonna get hold of some lengths of panel seals. Just slot it in between them and that should look nice and tidy.
Please note that the gaps be as big when it's finished. It's just how they sit

Not sure. I had to fit them before the main part so i never saw it without the side bits. I would guess pretty messy . As the cut goes through lots of plastic vents and stuff. All of it would be on show

If you take lots of passengers then it's probably a good idea anyway. I've decided not to have rear passengers in exchange for bloody good fun

Mate to the younger generation you are an inspiration. I wish I had your determinatin and view when I was your age! Not that I've ever been a fan of bodykits etc as they are disgusting. Fast road was my view before. Now building a track car.
Check out my build thread for my latest project currently fully stripped except for heater...will take that out when I grow a pair of bigger balls lol.
Massive well done to you mate, it's a pleasure to see a youngster doing things right first time round!

This evening was reassemble time.
I finished securing the dash.
I Fitted the clocks and indicator stalks back in
The windscreen wipers were refitted. And yes there is several weeks of rain dirt all over it. I blame the volcano in iceland lol
The painting for the rear half of the cage and the feet are done. I still need to clean the edges up, but i'm pretty happy with it

Progress is cruising (for now).
I took the masking of the finished harness mounts. Just the front 4 cage feet to go.
Then came the extinguisher.
It is fixed to the floor and plumbed in now. including pull cable.
From this you can see where i have mounted the two nozzles. I have sacrificed the engine compartment to remove the guilt of a burnt friend.
I just need to wait for a delivery that includes a load of p clips to organise the cables.
I also fitted the heater controls back in.
I also in that delivery is some more battery cable and terminals to finish off the killswitch before i can finish mounting the dash.

I sent an email to demontweeks earlier seeing if i could return a set of my harnesses. This is because one of them is the current logo and the other is the old one. This kind of irritates me when they cost as much as they do. Not sure if i will pull it off though. They have fia dates and stuff on them
