Default about faultcode p0118

my engine cooling fan kicks in as soon as i start the engine, when i turn of the engine it doesnt stop running. i have to either unplug the cooling fan relay or the battery -
I have tried other Coolant temperature sensors.

It says on my obd tester that the temperature sensor have too strong signal and that the engine is -40 degrees.

Anyone that can help ?

It could maybe be a break in a wire? You will need to test the wire from the plug on the sensor to the pin on the ECU with a multimeter set to resistance.

How did you check it? Just visually or by using a multimeter to test for continuity from the sensor to the ECU connector? There are plenty possibile areas for a wire break or poor connection that may not be easy to see.

I tested it with a multimeter.
