Hey Guys,

Just a quicky. I understand that the rear speaker size is 3" (6cm), is there any way to fit bigger speakers?

No

Just go for a set of comps at the front and run them through an amp

Add a little sub and you'll be laughing

im currently running set of jvc speaker+tweeters in the front without amp and a a 12" Jvc Drvn Series sub in boot with matching drvn series amp 2 channel.

Dont want shit on the parcel shef, i just wondering if theres any way of better the back seats?

do you think it might be better buying a set of speakers and build them into my boot box with the sub, and rip out my old ones from the rear?

If you really want you can cut out the inside of the door cards and replace with 6mm Mdf like I did for show

Very. Take the card out and use a small hacksaw blade to cut out the inner part. Law the card over some mdf to create a template. Add an inch on all round, cut and test fit and trim if necessary. Fit speakers and then trim the mdf in your choice of material.

No need for speakers in the rear. Just drags the soundstage behind you. Invest in larger components and amp them in the front

so id be better off taking the rear speakers out get bigger ones on the front and amp them, would you advise cross overs or not?

Convert it to take subs, just needs some mdf spacers making and smoothing in.

Not worth it when you can amp comps tho.

Crossovers are used with component speakers. The speaker wire goes into the crossover then splits it into treble (for the tweeter) and mid/bass (for the actual speaker). So if you get component speakers yes you'll need crossovers but they'll come in the set if you buy new.

And yes, I'd do away with the rears altogether and make some 6.5" components fit into the front door cards. Amp it up and you're sorted!

guys what gauge wire would you advise for a 400W amp? All i can see if some people saying 4 gauge and some saying 8 gauge?

400w peak or 400w rms?

8 awg is fine for 400w rms. If it's 400w peak, then you'd be fine with 12 awg.

the info i have about the amp is that it is Max. Power Output of 400W.

The Amp is a KS-XA3202 Drvn Series by Jvc

I've had a quick look but can't seem to find any info about it, but if the max power is 400w then the rms will be probably less than half that figure - so you'll be fine with a standard 12 gauge wiring kit.

awesome cheers guys. Iv had a look at some wiring kits. Is there any brands youd advise getting? Cus all i can find is Vibe 8 Gauge kits??

For a low power set up I don't think the brand would matter too much. If you type in 'amp wiring kit' into ebay there's loads starting from £4.99 upwards. I'd spend about £10-15. Or just get one from Halfords or Wilcos.
