Default Windows 8

It has never dawned to me that MS will be making another OS According to Wiki, its supposed to released sometime in 2012.

What would you like to see in it?
I'd like to see

Faster boot up time mainly.

Already ran it.

It's annoying, all slidey fancy stuff. Good for pictures/video's but how often do you just flick through old pictures?

Needless to say, i won't be getting a copy of this, i'll be sticking with Windows 7 yet i still argue that Windows XP and Windows 2000 we're the best ever made.

The start menu would do my tits.

The only good thing is the background with the waves.

Did you download the leaked copy?

You want faster boot time?? You must have a shit pc. I load up 7 in a matter of seconds.

Clear your desktop and get rid of shit you don't need...

The initial boot time is around 47 seconds from power on to full control of desktop.

Hardly any icons on the desktop and running a i7 with 8GB of Ram.

Assuming you dont already have one, get a SSD if your really worried about boot times.

But to be fair I dont really worry about my boot times. Run i7 6gb with a cruddy 5400 speed HD. The boot time taking longer actually gives me time to unzip and make sure the kleenex is close to hand

You expect it to be faster than 45 seconds?!

As said above, get a small SSD and set it as a boot drive. Don't put anything else on it.

Every Microsoft product is going down the tile route, the Xbox, WinFones and now Windows.

I like it for its intuitive look but other than that I see no point in it, they have said that there is going to be some sort of integration into the xbox for it.

Really?

Apple has basically looked the same for the past 10 years it hardly changes. When it does change the detail is so small you wouldn't even notice.

At least with windows they do not bring out windows 7 with tiny details they refresh the whole system take a step back and see how they can make it better, different and more refined. This is what i like about Microsoft it changes for the better and has a different and whole new look every time its due an upgrade.

People don't like change, xp to vista, vista to W7 its the same old story when W8 is finished from betas and is widely available it will be better than W7 no doubt. I have it, do not like the icons but they can be turned off, reload boot up times etc are quicker and the installation has been made a breeze.

Ya really, In 6 years of using macs I had 2 crashes, and one was my fault after I programmed 2 contradicting commands. I lost count of problems while being on a PC tbh.

I'm glad I didn't go for W7 since it doesn't run some software I use on top of not compatible with some other hardware. What really did turn me off from windows is the updates. After sometimes the computer gets clogged up with them and slows down. I got osx Lion and noticed a significant amount in processing speed.. Couldn't care less about booting as it's mere seconds, shutting down is instant.

Perfectly fine for me, my dock automatically hides and I use my own background pictures. When my guests look at it, they never say it hasn't changed for 10 years.

Macs don't necessarily crash but they do the wheel of death a lot!

Never seen one in over 3 and a half years now, and it's called the beach ball of death fyi. If you actually used a mac you would know, especially the latest models as they can crunch numbers and multitask while remaining perfectly stable. A wheel of death is a large rotating apparatus on which performers (often circus artists) carry out synchronized acrobatic skills. This, is a wheel of death:

This, is what you are referring to:

Back to PCs, my next OS will be linux when they stop support for XP pro, I can't be arsed with microsoft anymore.

windows is better when you install fresh on a new build. Theres Nothing worse than buying a pc from a store with all the curry's bloatware crap they put on it. Since building mine its been brilliant. i5 and four gig ram does the job for my music producing, got a brill case to allow for future upgrades !
