Thanks mate.
Managed to get the dyno pics and vids uploaded...
We went to a local remap specialist/rolling road called Map-Tech.
To be honest, I was very impressed with the guys there. We had some issues with the OBD port on the car which meant they had trouble connecting to the ecu. Gareth at Map-Tech didn't give up and managed to sort the problem though. I would definately recommend them to anyone looking at getting a standard ecu remapped.
The car on the rollers...
This was the base run with the standard map...
http://vid693.photobucket.com/albums...B6CE734BD5.mp4
and the final power run after a few tweaks...
http://vid693.photobucket.com/albums...DA5DC255C0.mp4
The final figures were 166.7hp @6700rpm and 142.9ft/lbs @5500rpm...
The comparison is the base run before the remap.
As you can imagine I'm pretty happy with that.

Thanks mate. I think we'll be keeping it for a while, a lot of the work has been done to make sure its lasts us for a good few years ;-)

How does it drive? Apologies if you've already mentioned it as I tend to just look at the pictures, what are your plans for the car? Track it? Or just a weekend car for enjoying?

Tidy build, good power, any plans to go boost/ ITB?
How do you find the non-PAS rack on the road?

I have not driven it properly since the rebuild, I'll find out on the 3rd October at Blyton Park. It's no longer road legal, just a track car shared between my brother, dad and myself. We have a trailer to move it about with.

The PAS rack with the PAS removed was hard work when parking, but fine on the road. Running a steering wheel spacer made it a lot easier as well.
We now run the non-PAS rack and column off the Rallye which is much eaiser but more turns lock-to-lock. Think we'll go for a quaife quick rack in the near future.

Also, no real plans for anymore power for a while. We'll just run it for a year as it is. Maybe look at some better suspension over next winter.

I considered a quaife rack but read they also more turns lock to lock. I've left the PAS in on mine for now, decent weight savings to be had though
Have you lowered the steering column at all also?

Right then, managed to get the car out for its first trackday since the rebuild.
It was an open pit lane at Blyton Park. The morning layout was the full circuit which changed to the eastern circuit for the afternoon.
Car performed faultlessly all day. The only problem we had was a ball joint pinch bolt coming a bit loose which was pretty impressive considering the whole car has been apart.
The new engine didn't miss a beat.
Once the tyres and brakes were up to temp and we had adjusted the pressures and bias to where we wanted them, the car felt great. The balance between the front and rear grip was good and the car seemed nice and stable.
Overall we just felt the car was lacking a bit of 'overall' grip, we put this down to the R888's being 5-6 years old. We're looking to buy a fresh set of R888R's or Avon ZZR's for next year.
Anyway, here's a vid of me doing a few laps of the eastern circuit in the afternoon...

Glad everything went well,if you don't mind me asking what kind of sleeve are you using for the brake copper pipes? I would like to steal your idea and use them on mine as well as I'm just in the process of replacing the lines.
Thanks.

Thanks mate.
I get all my heat protection from Nimbus Motorsport.
This is the stuff I used on the brake lines behind the engine...

These arrived yesterday.....
They'll be going on the superturismos once they've been powder coated black.

The attention to detail, lawd jeezus.
Impeccable build, one of the best on here without a shadow of doubt. Can't beat a clean track car!

We won't be out on them until early next year, probably February.
