S2 106 16v Hillclimb Build
After nearly 3 years out of the game, I got myself this little beauty. No tax and no mot. Excuse the blurry pics, it's cold in Scotland!
And in true me style I quickly did this lot
There was some rust that had to be addressed
Engine came out to address some further rust
Rest of interior was stripped out, dash modified, lovingly modeled by the kiddy
And today I wired the ignition up to a switch panel and push start
Paving the way for me to wire in the 6 way kill switch probably in a few weeks.
That's all for now and I don't expect much more until after new year.

I'm going to wait for a day that you're not there so I have at least a remote chance but quite possibly providing I can get a cage in time

Re fitted the radiator and fitted the jp4 covers tonight and started hacking at pipes to fit the catch tank. That's all.

It's nothing to look at, it's a race car not a show pony.

It's a stupidly quick race car though, I've seen the videos! Take the praise where the praise is due

Fitted the catch tank and finished fitting the jp4 covers, somehow I've lost the screws for the coilpack cover?

How big is your catch tank? it looks a bit on the small side. Is it attached to anything?
They're supposed to hold 1 litre of fluid. (my one doesn't either)

I think it'll hold 500ml, you've got a point though I'll need to check.
I've made a braket that attaches to the battery clamp to hold it tight you can kind of make out the clean metal in the picture

Yeah it's about 500ml...it'll be fine
Fitted a group A lower mount and fork bush before I got rained off! Contemplating going back out to get the dash sorted. Also got some stickers in the post

Interesting. Was hoping to get mine done for this coming season but work and money seem to be saying no to any fun! Maybe 2015
Are you going to go mental spec with this or "sensible"?

I'm hoping to have it ready for next year but there is every possibility it might not make it. I have two kids to look after
At the moment the spec will not really change as it takes a bit of cash to get it ready for the modified class. Once it's ready though I hope to gradually go a bit wild. Long term plans are to take it into stage rallying but baby steps first

Finished making my switch pannel thingy, just needs a lick of paint.
Started running the copper fuel lines. Need to get springs or a pipe bender to get round the tight bends but meh, all in good time.
Still waiting for a load of parts from rallynuts so more to come
