Default Citroen AX Sleeper

A project was needed. So myself and a mate from uni managed to get Citroen AX that already had a 16v lump dropped in it for cheap, no other modifications apart from a power steering conversion, an ideal starting point for a project really. The plan is to keep it looking sleeper-ish as it's just so much fun. There's 50k on the shell and no rot at all! All was going well until the clutch decided to explode, which will be replaced ASAP. More updates to come but currently sourcing a vt/gti suspension setup as this thing is of course poverty spec; no ARBs, 3 stud etc.

please please please try and keep it on povvo style wheeltrims. i know they're 13" but pretty sure you can just about squeeze 13 over a VT caliper!!

that way its a true sleeper

must be a little bit interesting on that setup though, the brakes on my 1.1 would fade after a few seconds at 70mph!

Fucking quality. That looks about as light as a fart, bet she flies from the lights. +1 on keeping original wheels etc.. maybe some decent tyres and allround service and your sorted to prey on cars at traffic lights haha.

The current suspension/brake setup definitely does not fill you with any confidence at all haha. And the tyres are truly awful. But when it gets vts/106 gti struts and rear axle, hoping to find some wider steel 13s in order to be able to keep the trims! I'm guessing its between 700 and 750kg, I'll get it on the corner weights at uni and find out sometime soon. Me and my mate already did a lot of preying on cars before the clutch went and whilst it was still temporarily insured for the drive home, it was so much fun!

I take it whoever converted it used the 180mm clutch?
Good call on getting some of the handling and stopping upgrades done, having done the same thing with big engied metros in the past myself the comedy shopping car suspension setups that some people used to neglect to upgrade was a death trap.
I'm sure a set of the 14 inch rallye wheel or the vtr spare steel wheels would be a better option to go for wheels wise? Could then source some suitably shit trims from one of the bigger cars such as a 306 or xsara

Slow progress because of uni. But a clutch new is in, along with constella linkages and a 4 stud conversion upfront with new bilstein b4 inserts with 106gti brakes. Note the large piece missing from the old clutch!

It's currently at a mates house in Newcastle as he has a large garage to store it. However I shall give you a shout when its back on the road as it isn't insured at the moment, probably going to get a few more things done to it first!
