Saxo rear trailing arm removal
Hi, today i tried to remove the rear trailing arm on my saxo on the right hand side. I removed all the bolts and brake plate etc. But when i came to hammer the arm off, it doesnt wanna budge. you need to remove the ARB, wind a 12x1.5 threaded bolt into the right hand end of the bar to remove the end plate.
once that is done you can remove the trailing arm, however if they have never been off they can be seriously rusted in place, a 20+ ton press and heat will help significantly.

So i have to first wind a bolt in the ARB on the passenger side trailing arm, to remove the driver side one, because on the driver side there is no hole where to wind a bolt into the ARB<br><br>Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk<br><br>

only one side of the arb has a removable plate, once the plate is off you just slide it out the other side.

Oh ok so if i want to change the bearings in the driver side. I have to remove the passenger side arb first? Because the driverside havent got a removable plate. And do i need the car supported in jackstands on 2 sides when i change the driver side one? Because you need to remove the ARB copletely off i think no? The torsion bars set the ride height they are the small bars on either side of the axle, the arb there is only one and its inside the axle (dont think the lower saxo models have a rear arb). you have undone the torsion bar bolts and removed the eccentric washers?
Last thing if your bearings are gone the axle beam shaft is likely fucked, replacing the bearing wont last long

The tyres are only slightly leaning inward, i want to replace the bearings so i will catch it early because of the issue of the shaft being crap. Im doing it as a preventative maintenance. I only removed the eccentric washer on the side i was trying to remove the trailing arm, the driver side. But since i didnt put a bolt in the torsion bar on the passenger side j couldn5 remove the bar on the driver side.<br><br>Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk<br><br>

once you remove the arb plate on the other side you should be able to just knock off the trailing arm, it will take some persuasion to get it to move

Correct me if im wrong, but i saw the trailing arm threaded hole, and i think its smaller than 12x1.5, isnt the wheel bolt 12x1.25? I tried to compare the wheel bolt to that, the trailing arm hole is smaller<br><br>Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk<br><br>

I have an issue with the wjndscreen washers too. Recently replaced the clear pipes and pump because they were leaking and had an issue that when you press for front washers, the rears wash instead. Now i still have that issue tho even after replacing most of the piping, and replaced the pump because it went dead. Could it be that the wiper stalk is faulty? Also when i press for front washers it takes like 5 seconds of hearing the pump pushing water for actually getting water at the windscreen<br><br>Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk<br><br>

I replaced both axle bearing today of both sides, one side the shaft was perfect, the other one has a slight step in it. I replaced them now we will see.<br><br>Sent from my SM-T560 using Tapatalk<br><br>
