Default MK2 Saxo 1.4 - VTR/S Coversion..

My mates got a MK2 Saxo Furio and is thinking about either a VTR or VTS conversion.. Hasnt decided which yet..

Il be doing the conversion for him so just looking for a bit of heads up for what to look out for, what needs changing etc..

Iv done a few engine conversions but none on a Saxo, iv removed engines from VTS's etc but never done a conversion..

Iv got a rough list of what il need but please tell me if iv missed something..

Engine
Clutch
Gearbox
Driveshafts
Engine mounts & Gearbox mount? If they are different?
Gearlinkage? If they are different?
Engine loom
ECU set
Exhaust mani & downpipe
Inlet mani
VTR/S front brakes
Disc rear beam
VTS suspension

He'll no doubt get a super sprint system or similar..

Anything iv missed? Anything worth changing while im at it..?

Il do the cambelt etc while the engine is on the floor, it will be serviced once in and running.. Fresh gearbox oil etc..

Cant think of must else..

When I change the rear beam, do I need disc brake handbrake cables? Or are they the same..?

Cheers!

I think it will be a VTR conversion tbh..

What will be needed for the VTR conversion then..?

Would running on the 1.4 gearbox be alright..?

If so thats gearbox mount, driveshafts, gearbox sorted..

Are the engine mounts different on the 1.4 to the VTR? It will be a MK2 VTR engine by the way, if it makes any difference..

Front brakes are the same on the Furio/VTR/VTS?

I thought VTR/S were different to 1.1 and 1.4..

The engine will be declared to the DVLA, will be getting RAC to do an engineer's report when its done and it will obviously be insured as a 1.6..

Why Would you go to the trouble of changing the engine to a vtr when a few planned mods would make the furio just as quick !!
