Chapter 1 - The beginning!
Alright everyone!
Thought i would start my progress thread
Right, i passed my driving test in September, i originally wanted to get a furio or even a vtr, but the insurance was to much on the vtr, so i ended up buying the westcoast.
Heres some pics when i first brought it:
The car was in all round good condition, only fault was it had a smashed front headlight but i ordered a new one straight away. It already came with alloys, which were mega curbed, and a peco backbox, ohhh yeahh lol
After about a week of driving it i already had some problems Every time i started it it made a horrible grind noise, so thought it was the starter motor f**ked up. We replaced this, but after a couple of days it started to grind again. So then thought it was maybe the ring gear, but when replacing the ring gear there was two bolts missing from the gearbox and a huge crack right along the side of the gearbox. The guy who had it before said it had a new gearbox fitted, so we reckon when they done it they must have dropped it and put it back in, also forgetting to put two bolts back (dunno how), which meant the gearbox was sitting at an angle, which constantly shagged out the starter motor.
The next day we went down the scrappy, (money was tight lol) to find a gearbox, managed to find a pretty mint one, which is working perfectly at the minute
Anyway!
As i had just spent all my money it was back to the scrappy!
The mirrors on the sax didnt come with any caps, so i went out and found some! lol
before:
after:
My next small mod was to t-cut the badges:
Was pretty pleased with the outcome btw the exhaust now sits better.
I then got given a boot spoiler as a present, love it!:
Its makes the rear end look so much better!
When i brought the car it didn't have a CD player, so i went out and brought one, its nothing special but does the job
I did try make an ipod holder but turned out rather sh*t lol
I also wanted to replace the gear knob because the one on the car had seen better days. (note the sh*t ipod holder in this photo lol)
And finally the best mod of them all, sax-p stickers!
Thats all ive done so far, been pretty skint lol
few more pics:
Just for the record, the vtr badges were already on the car
Future plans
- Mk2 rear lights (already brought)
- Lowered 40mm all round
- Either team dynamic pro race 1.2's, fox evo 3 sprayed black or Vts rims sprayed black.
- Raceland induction kit
- Exhaust system, unsure which one yet, suggestions??
- New grill (without badges)
- Gti interior
- possibly black angel eyes
Hopefully when the money starts rolling in ill get them done
soz for the big pictures and all the writing, didn't realise i wrote that much lol
Comments good or bad welcome!
Chris

Chapter 4 - Meshed grill
Right today i saw a thread on here about meshing grills, so thought id give it ago.
Wasn't as hard as i thought it would be... infact it was pretty easy! Really happy with the results:
I havent decided whether to spray my chevrons black and stick them on the grill or not, opinions anyone?
Also, another decision, ive decided instead of getting little things like, raceland kit, lights etc, im gona save up for some wheels as i really dont like mine at the moment.
SOOO im stuck, team dynamic pro race 1.2s black, or O.Z Superturismo in white??????
I really dont know which i prefer, any opinions??
And of course i will lower at some point

car looks nice mate, will be spot on once lowered.
don't put chevrons in the grill imo, looks good as is, tho i think smoked headlights would look mint.
get a few photoshops done with the alloys you fancy, will give you a good idea what they'll look like.
