Olly's Track-day car
As im sure some of you are aware, Ive inherited an old 'shed' From Paul. Picked it up on Saturday, Its made it to its new home safely and The work can now begin!
Couple of pics...
Lots of jobs to do and parts needed, so will be a fair while before its back together. Atleast i have all winter now
First things to do....
Source mk1 engine loom/sensors
Tidy wiring/fuseboxes
Rustproof under boot floor/other areas
Source some new struts
Additional bars to cage
EDIT
Mount fuel/fan switches properly
Sort bentup bumper plate/mount
fix in new washer bottle........
Source some light steelies
Theres quite a bit more too before the fun parts are added.......

Good stuff mate. Did consider the shell myself to save caging and painting mine. Will be pretty special by the time you've done I imagine

Aha, CDS....
And welder....
Shit the workshop is messy....
More strength ahead....
First bar cut, Should help with any side impact cave-ins Hopefully miss the seat.
Try and sort the next additions soon, bit tight on time atm,
Some more roof supports,
May be a little less angle, so it doesnt obstruct any view from the driving position,
And i think a diagonal roof bar,
strut strengthening plates to follow, arriving early next week

Spec so far,-not much yet
Mk1 shell
OMP 19kg weld in cage with a fair few extra bars now and tied into shell pillars
Braided fuel lines
Flocked dash
Dials moulded into dash
Fuel cut off
Braided front brake lines
Underside of shell de-rusted
(Mostly bought like that)^^^
Engine
J4 bottom end with Wossner 79mm High comps
QEP big valve head
Catcam 734's and springs/retainer
Full rebuild.
KMS DTH bodies
Undecided on ECU as yet. Predator is very tempting tbh.

aha will have to weigh it when its all back together But should be safe
Mainly going to be used for track days during the summer next year, probably trailered to them at that. Then go from there with what iwant to do with it. Certainly not going to be a daily car.

Thankyou for the comments
I already have the gearbox mate, Bought it a little while back.
Had this afternoon free so cracked on and got the cross bar welded in and cut the roof supports and welded them in too. Only managed to get one picture before the camera died, But you get the idea
Sort the seat mounts next.
