Rookie's stripped, non sunroof, caged Mk1 track project (Cage fitted Pg 3)
Went and picked this up last Thursday, just in time for USC but unfortunately never got to take it up the strip due to being broke after buying the car not really got any pics at the min as ive not had a chance to properly clean it yet, this is pretty much how i brought it. All ive done so far is replace the nasty lexus lights that were on it with my smoked jewel's, put my KamRacing system on it and the 2 stickers i got from USC! Oh and the steering wheel from my old car has been put in...
actually had a clean up under the engine bay today but it was too dark for a pic by the time i finished so ill get one tomorrow. probably wont tell from the pics but its a mk1
Mods as it stands are:
Kent cams
Lightened flywheel
Brembo 4 pots up front
HKS filter
KamRacing full system
Lowered 60mm all round
Big plans for this, going all out track with it but obviously i can only do stuff as fast as money permits! The wheels will be going soon for some VTS's in lime green (going for a silver and lime theme) then ill be stripping it out and putting buckets in. Then onto performance mods so uprate the suspension as the ride is pretty poor as it is...eventually want R1 carbs on it but thats at the bottom of the list for now.
Opinions?

I would save your money and not buy S wheels..Just keep the money and buy proper light weight track wheels, pro race 1.2s etc

Left for MK cruise last night with a few mates, stopped in town to get some food before making our way over. Came out and noticeda big puddle of water under my car popped the bonnet and had a look as best i could (it was pitch black) the cap hadnt come off the header tank and i couldnt see any burst pipes ir anything, got under the car and it looks like the water is dripping from the cambelt cover so im pretty sure the water pump has gone. Will be getting a new one during the week and will fit it at the weekend, also gonna do the cambelt whilst im at it. But im carless for a week which is gonna be wack!

Small update, found whilst i had everything apart to do the cambelt that the bottom end of the cambelt cover has snapped, one of the pulleys has been rubbing against the bottom radiator hose and worn it away, looks almost all the way through so im gonna replace that too! will be getting one tomorrow off a mate so s'all good.
Was bored with nothing to do so i went down the scrappy and got a new centre console to replace the old one which has a shit spray job and is covered in overspray! Sprayed the new one gloss black, makes a huge difference to the interior, the finish is much better in the flesh pics dont do it justice.
Before
After
Next on the agenda are lime green VTS wheels which i should be getting during next week and standard mirrors + lime green caps which will be coming tomorrow.
