Nissan 200sx s14a - rb25 power! ~ 327bhp
Thought i would stick a thread up in here!
Took about 3 months of waiting for this to come up, and glad i waited for the right one to be honest as i know there are a few shitters about. An rb25 conversion is what i wanted simply because of the tuning potential of the engine.
Have to say i've had a lot of fun in it since i've had it, especially on wet roundabouts this weekend! Does seem to attract a lot of attention as well!
This is currently sitting at stage 1 with following spec.
Engine
2.5l straight6 24v rb25det engine conversion
rsp stage one ecu
turbosmart boost controller set at 0.8bar
large open cone filter
custom 3inch stainless exhaust system from downpipe to backbox
apexi front mount intercooler
splitfire blue coilpacks
ngk8 plugs
walbro 225 fuel pump
uprated radiator
twin 10inch fans
hardpipe kit
welded diff
uprated clutch (unsure on make)
327bhp @the fly
274bhp @the wheels with printout at rdt
Suspension and Brakes
adjustable apex coilovers with hard/soft settings and camber adjusters
strut brace
20mm hubcentric spacers
driftworks suspension arms front and rear to aid camber adjust
345mm db power brakes drilled and grooved
braided lines all round
abs removed
fully undersealed
Wheels
10j Super Advans spaced out 20mm
front - et35 with 215/45/17 verdsteins
rear - et45 with 235/45/17 michelins
Wasn't sure on the wheels at first but they've grown on me a lot, a bit different to the normal rota's you will see on a lot of these
Standard interior which is excellent condition for it's age, with sparco wheel, sony headunit, hks boost gauge.
Few pics...

Cheers mate, for the first few months will just be leaving it how it is, apart from maybe a few small changes. Needs £200 of welding to get it through it's mot which runs out 3rd august. As it's such a change from my old vts will take a while just to learn exactly how to push the car. After a while i'm sure i will want more power and then aim for 400bhp mark

I'm starting to miss mine now. Only thing that puts me off I'd the price, nine years ago they were so much cheaper (and newer). I once paid £150 for a mint bodied s13 running on 3 cylinders, drove it back from Brighton (was taxed and tested too) rebuilt the head and was as good as new.
there was one on sxoc last couple of weeks, rotten, no t+t for £800 wtf!
Even decent 14s are going for stupid money, my last one I paid £1200 for in 2005, R plate in black, mint. Wish I'd kept it. RRd at APT @435bhp
Nice motor though Chris enjoy the six

Hopefully you will have the sense to learn how to drive it before you attempt to learn how to push it...

Didn't realise they used to go for pennies like that to be honest. I got this at a good price anyway compared to what's going around atm. And i bet 435bhp was fun!

I've been driving 7 years now and come to realise that you need to know your cars before you really push them, and when the right time to have a bit of fun is. If i got this when i was 18, I probabaly wouldn't be here now!

A mate had an s13, and literally just spent all morning fitting a set of apex coilovers, he gave it some mouth and flew out onto the main road outside the unit, fishtailed it, left right and bang, straight into a high curb, bent track rod, bent lower arm.
Had all the bits in to repair it so sorted him out.
Then the next day did the same again outside his work! But sheared the top off the strut that time.
Then, as his wheel was bent I lent hime some rims. I get a phone call saying he's rolled it. Smashed my wheels to bits in the process.
It was only running around 250bhp. He just wasn't used to rwd and gave it the beans everywhere. Tit. We laugh about it now, well he still doesn't lol!

Little bit of an update on this,
Needed some welding done on the rear subframe mounts to get it through it's mot, all done now fully undersealed underneath, all solid.
Also had it taken somewhere in essex to get all the alignment and camber set up correctly, can definietely notice a difference!
Might be getting rid of the welded diff as well as rear tyres aren't lasting long lol.
Got some videos recently, only this one has uploaded for the minute, got a drive by and speedo run to put on but they wont upload for some reason!

Picked up the studs and gaskets for my rb today, looking forward to getting it in the car! Do you run a s13 rad or a skyline one? Find it runs warm?

Nice, you will enjoy it! I will have to get back to you on the rad, it was brand new when the conversion done before i got it, sure it says it in the paperwork somewhere. It's had a twin fan conversion as well, bloke i was speaking to at gda said the old fan setup is a lot better and you might get trouble with heat, but so far hasn't caused any issues.
When do you rekon you will have it all up and running then? Just going to run standard engine for a while first?

Aye il keep the viscus if I can, if not two fans similar to your setup.
It's going to be stock ish when I fit it, similar to yours probably just so I can get it in and iron out all the inevitable headaches. Then when my bank balance has recovered a bigger turbo will follow
Hoping to put it in next month if I can get all the parts I want done first. Wana do the difficult stuff while the engine is out.
