Default Insurance help needed

This is not for me but for my younger brother...(17, just passed.)

I have spent countless hours entering his details into every insurance company I can find for my younger brothers insurance.

So I'm seeking someone just to let me know the name(s) of some companies I can try. He has a budget of 300 a month.

Any information would be fantastic!

Mike

What sort of quotes have you been getting?

Why are you entering your details and not his?

Sorry, typo. I meant his details.

Ugh, I've tried a few compare sites and got a few quotes of like 5000 for him, some are unable to quote. He has a 1.4 Corsa Vegas so I didn't think it'd be this hard.

Hainey - Thanks, I'll give it a shot if I haven't already tried.

Dany4494 - Yes. He has though about that but that's like the last resort because he's not too keen on the idea of being monitored everywhere he goes etc.

Try a different car.

Think outside the box.. what car's are out there that aren't seeked after by teens?

Imagine all the statistics for a corsa / saxo - how many 17 year olds have crashed those? Or how many have been stolen? (they're 10+ years old will have alot of stats)

Now imagine how many 17 year olds would of crashed a 900cc KIA picanto?

That's how you need to think

This tbh. I know it sucks, but an old school fiat panda or something (if you can find one!) might now cut it with the cool kids, but your brother just needs to tell them he's paying 1/4 or the insurance they're paying and he's laughing all the way to the bank.

It's never going to be a low quote for a young driver nowadays on a 1.4 saxo I'm afraid.

Tried quotes on a Panda and a Citroen AX insurance is still 4500+.

ouch - that really sucks man - sorry

Can he live with a GPS box? That really brings it down - as above, try those companies? Co-Op etc.

I really feel for young drivers atm, Insurance companies are ripping people off left right and centre and it's morally wrong.

I know that young drivers are a risk but they are potentially making an adverse effect on the motor industry as well as other related businesses that rely on people to drive.
