LSOfreak's saxo on hydraulics - MCN Feature pg10
I acquired this recently from a member of here. It needs a bit of tidying up here and there and a couple repairs including an oil leak, but nothing major.
The interior especially needs a seeing to as its just standard
Overall though, its a brilliant little car. Bodywork/engine bay/underneath are all in very good condition.
Has 2 way rayvern hydraulics mounted in the boot,
a chassis notch
a huge porsche 911 battery to power it all
Piper exhuast system
ashley manifold
polyrace bushes
14x8.5 Schmidt TH lines
Smoothed bonnet, roof, boot, boot lock, front bumper
My plans were to keep it for a while and then transfer everything over to a 106gti in future, but its hard not to do anything to it lol and my love for 106's isn't quite there anymore. Im not really a fan of buying a project someone else has already started, so in the future when i sort out my finances (and cars), i will try and make it my own buy fitting a less common set of wheels, a different interior and i've been toying with a different colour seeing as nearly every car ive ever owned has been silver and its such a boring colour lol, but i can't justify spending the money to respray a saxo lol im going to need some persuasion!
Mk1 vs Mk2

Great base and I'm sure under your ownership it will look even sweeter.
How much did if you pay if you don't mind me asking?
If you fancy selling the mk2 in a few months give me a shout .

I have too many cars for someone who will soon be travelling to work by tube every day, i never thought i would say this, but is it time my 5 year relationship with my mk1 soon came to an end?

but mk1's don't have the same 'smoothness' as mk2's
mk1s look more aggressive so won't really suit the look.

Awesome! If anyone was going to buy it, it suits you the most lol. See if you can sell the wheels on, i know BOD is selling his Image 3 Piece Splits on fb. 16" 8j and 9j. £500. Could be a nice challenge with that size lol!

I almost bought it a while ago. But I'd already got started on the polo and couldn't bring myself to go back to the interior quality of a saxo!

lol cheers!
when i set some money aside for this, wheels will be the first on the list... I'd like some 14' splits which havent been done before on a saxo. I do have a set or 2 in mind but i'd rather keep it secret
I would like the challenge of 16's but then the car wont be laying frame and might have some ground clearance at its lowest setting

haha saxo interiors are pretty bad. Can be made to look better but you can't ever hide the cheap plastics and rattles

I am the biggest mk1 fan, and still do prefer mk1s but i just fancy a change really. I've been looking at the same mk1 front end for 5 years now, so now looking at a mk2 is slightly refreshing haha does look slightly newer aswel.
Once you drive a car with hydraulics/air, static just feels like a pain in the arse now! I used to not mind it, but now its really getting to me lol
i like the look of the outward rolled pipe exhaust, but i much prefer the sound of my peco jap can lol Has a much better raspy tone that burbles and pops like a motorbike
