Talking Charlie's Silver VTR Starmags are on! P6

Ive been meaning to do a progress or at least start one on my vtr for a while now so here it is.
Bought the car in 2011 with 78000 on the clock and a Magnex cat back double silenced system and a pioneer head unit already fitted, other than that it was completely standard. Poor thing sat on my drive until I passed my test and didnt really want to do any mods until I got confident with how it drove etc. Here are a few pics of the car when I bought it and cleaned it up.

Since then ive only done 5000 miles, and only done a few subtle touches.

Progress so far:
- Supersprint 421 decat mani followed by Supersprint race straight through centre and Piper 3.5 inch outward rolled back box.
- Jet black roof liner and abc pillars to match.
- Lowered 60mm front, 75mm rear on gaz coilovers. Will be 70mm at the front.
- SMD led side lights/number plate lights/interior lights to match.
- Airbagged mk2 VTS interior.
- Team heko wind deflectors.
- Brembo OEM discs all round.
- De-wipered rear.
- Leather s2 GTi steering wheel.
- Dimma meshed grill.
- Uprated front speakers.
- Yellow tinted fogs.
- Aerial blank plug.
- Satin black grill/badges/wiper arms.
- 13 inch Starmags.

Planned mods:
- Either smoothed front bumper or gloss/satin black bumps strips and widemouth/blanked fogs.
- Maybe a retrim on the interior.
- Uprated speakers. Fronts done.
- LED or plasma dials.
- Smoked headlights.
- Clean up the engine bay.
- Maybe cammed and remapped or 16v conversion in the future.

Im sure there are more that I can think of but will put up later as well as pics of whats already done.

Thanks for having a look, hope it all sounds good!

Here are some pics of it at this moment with the mods ive mentioned:

On an incline for gravity lows to match the front.. and t cut badges.

Black roof liner, pillars and vts interior.

Engine bay (go faster red rocker for extra 10bhp obviously, will be changed soon).

HIDs vs standard. - Pic doesnt show it properly but is 10x brighter than standard and a lovely chavy blue!

Nice to see another silver VTR! Clean that engine bay and loose the long aerial, also S wheels always go nice on silver saxo's, thats just my opinion though!

Strange to see another person in their first year of driving with a VTR like me, how much is your insurance?

Mine is £2000 also but it's my policy. Renewing just after Christmas for £780!

Well youve beaten me! Apparently I live in a high crime rate area, I checked what it would be at my girlfriends (which is a worse area in everyone around heres opinion and 20 minutes closer to london than me) and its about 250-300 quid cheaper

Little bad news update..

Was driving back from college today and all of a sudden my car sounded like a rally car so got it home and found out the exhaust had sheared in half somehow.

Dont really wanna drive it around like that which sucks because it sounds naughty so I think a decent centre pipe is needed, anyone know of a decent one thats not a fortune or got like a supersprint for sale?

They look good mate, something different from the usual! I'd actually put the rims on the car first and then you can work out the right hight to lower it at then. Get a decent set of tyres for them to

Update!

Sourced a new centre section and back box from here (supersprint tube and piper 3.5 outwardly rolled) and also some gaz front shocks. Just waiting for them to arrive!
Bought a halfords pro 170 piece socket set as well so should make things easier for the rest of my life!
Waiting for my trip to autosport to see if I can get trade price gaz spring and collar set up, and saving for decent rubbers for the starmags! Should also have my retrim sorted by end of jan depends on the health of my grandad. And trying to get a mates rates quote for my bumpers to be resprayed after ive hacked the slats and smoothed the fogs.
Also If anyones interested ive got my magnex up for sale in the for sale section.

Hopefully be a regular thread from now on haha!
