Wheel cleaner
What wheel cleaner do people recommend? I've used autoglym wheel cleaner but it seems useless imo. So just using triple wax car shampoo. Is there something stronger that makes cleaning the wheels much less effort?

I haven't actually used it but that Iron-X stuff looks good. Think you spray it on, wait for it to go red and it strips any crap off the wheels. Look it up!

Any Iron/Fallout remover will get rid of some surface crap, but not the more baked on dust etc. I use Bilberry wheel cleaner with a detailing brush.
For weekly useage, dilute it 4:1 and just spray on, rinse off. For longer periods you can use it neat, then use a detailing brush to get inbetween the spokes etc depending on your wheels.

Either purple rain or iron x. Great stuff. But always use a wheel sealant, makes it loads easier to clean the next time around.

Used alloy wheel cleaner from local pound shop in red tin called Mean Machine. Foams up like Mr mussel oven cleaner if not more, really foamy, leave for about 5 or 10 min to soak in. Get brush or microfiber cloth dependent on alloy you have clean. Stuff for £1 spray bottle is bang on gets all the brake dust off and simply left nice and shinny.
Amazon ripping people off at £4.48 thats 4x the price and can get 4x tins for that lmfao.

Lol what do you mean? The wheel cleaner? It worked ok, not a massive difference, but maybe my alloys aren't in great shape!
I did get some before/after pics but they aren't great, I'll upload them soon. Maybe.

I've yet to find something that will really take off brake dust other than scrubbing the shit out of it, other than oven cleaner but its not exactly safe to use if you value your paint. really annoying because the golf has silver multi spokes that keep getting covered in brake dust especially the rear wheels and I just don't have time to spend like 4 hours scrubbing off brake dust every week

The Imo car wash near me uses something that stripped the dust right off my wheels, i'll grab a picture as they're stupidly clean now. even on my own with a can of wonder wheels and a jetwash I can't get them that clean. Need to ask them what they use.
