Default Battery light on

Long time since I posted last and it’s been a long time since the car has even been started, so fitted a new battery tonight to get it going. Noticed that the my battery light is always lit but very dimly. Checked the battery with a multi meter when running, is around 11.9 volts not 14+ as it should be when the alternator is charging. Swapped the alternator with a good spare I had on the shelf and I still have the same issue.
Checked the alternator charging wire directly and it’s kicking out 14.6 or a bit more volts according to the multi meter

What do you think should be my next step?

Cheers
