Argh Oil filter problem

Hi there people

i have just attemted to give my 2001 saxo a oil change (silver top) and the oil filter has brokendown leaving only a 1/4 of paper element remaining in the case....

Has anyone seen this before, what action do you think i should take guys?????

before i did the oil change i had no oil pressure warning light which i am guessing is good

lol what about the bits of oil filter runing round my engine is that not bad?????
