I have seen this and i was wondering whether it would fit my 1.4 furio? Also is it a standard one chromed or a performance one?

I only have a standard exhaust system apart from a magnex backbox, does this matter?

Will i have to change it back for MOT?

Thanks

Ryan

*back on topic*

and you wont have to change it back for an mot. the cat should be under the car on your car, so you will not effect emissions

Baz

the rep points etc actually stay though ;)

enough of spammage anyway, if you can get it cheap enough Emma i would say buy it, but you will need to move the oil filter for a MK1 one? if your cats in the mani, which i assume it will be

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:33
lol i am confused lol i have a mk2 saxo, will it be a straight fit? I have only got a standard exhaust piping thingie until the magnex backbox

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:33
email the seller and ask if its a raceland.

personally if it is i wouldnt get it, as its near £50 atm plus £20 PP.

i expect it will go up a bit more to, so its not much of a saving on a new one tbh.

although are you a bit skint and trying to just have a bit of fun with the car on the cheap?

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:34
no lol i aint skint

will it just connect to my standard piping then under my car? will this do any damage?

How much is a new one, to fit my car?

Baz
8th September 2007, 14:35
some MK2 have CAT under the car some have it in the mani, dependant on year. Where is yours? If its in the manifold isn't there only the GMC that will fit a MK2 without moving the oil filter?

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:35
can you check for me if your cat is under the car please?

im not 100% on furios?

if it is under the car it should fit fine, for the exhaust, but as baz says may need to change the oil filter.

if your car is late 2000 or later like mine, CAT will be in manifold

Baz
8th September 2007, 14:38
just had quick look at your engine bay, your CAT is under the car, so it will be a straight fit, without moving oil filter

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:38
errrmmm . . . what is a CAT? what do i look for?

sorry i dont have a clue

EDIT: just seen your post, so racelands will fit mine?

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:38
im lucky im early 2000, i get the non gay front end and the non gay cat :P

Emma_ZS

What price am i looking at for a new one? what one will fit mine? I have no clue about the 4-2-1 thingie sorry

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:41
errrmmm . . . what is a CAT? what do i look for?

sorry i dont have a clue

baz has answered but the cat is like a box of ceramic that reduces the emissions.

if you look under your car where the manifold meets the exhaust (just behind nearr where the wheels are if your looking from above) there should be a box in the exhaust if you have a cat under the car.

Ryan

What price am i looking at for a new one? what one will fit mine? I have no clue about the 4-2-1 thingie sorry

Emma_ZS

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:44
thanks but i dont know what i am looking for and what will fit (4-2-1? wtf lol)

4-2-1 is the configuration.

look at the pipes in the ebay link.
theres 4. then 2, then they mould into one.

some go 4 then straight into 1

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:45
oh lol thanks for explaining that

Baz
8th September 2007, 14:45
Basically:

A 4-2-1 offers more power in your lower revs and a 4-1 offers more power higher up

so upto you what your after, if you care lol

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:45
Oh i get you, i think i would want more power in lower revs or maybe higher? mmmmmm i dont know lol

What do most people go for?

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:46
so mine is a 4-2-1 then?

the one posted in the ebay link is.

standard us just a pap 4-1

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:49
I notice that on Kamracing tey only sell maifolds for VTR or VTS though, so which do i get?

Baz

get a VTR one

Baz
8th September 2007, 14:50
the one on ebay (from pics on Kamracing) looks like a supersprint manifold

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:52
if its a supersprint get it! its a bargain!

Barkham
8th September 2007, 14:53
will you actually notice the difference on a 1.4?

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:53
thanks but it has a reserve though

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:54
will you actually notice the difference on a 1.4?

good point

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:55
it will increase the noise, and give a few gains but not alot tbh

Baz
8th September 2007, 14:56

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:56
how do you know the difference?

Ryan
8th September 2007, 14:57
yes welding is different and so is the collector, the 2 part is longer on the supersprint

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 14:58
the one off ebay looks like a raceland then?

Barkham
8th September 2007, 15:04
so is it kinda for show aswell or just performance? looks like moden art lol

Ryan
8th September 2007, 15:05
from the pics baz showed looks more supersprint.

ask the seller

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:05
i have :P

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:06
i have :P

just sit and wait then, though i'll bank he says he doesn't know

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:06
lol but either way, it will fit?

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:07
lol but either way, it will fit?

yeah aslong as its from a vtr

Ryan
8th September 2007, 15:07
it looks like it should. and as stated is for the 8v head pattern

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:08
well it says "will fit most 8v engine"

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:16
I asked: "Is it a raceland?"

I have a message back: "I am almost certain it is a supersprint"

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:20
get it snapped up then, they are over £250 new

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:21
i have asked about his reserve

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:23
i can see his reserve being over £170

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:24
i know lol, i might just buy a full system then a manifold

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:37
reserve £130!

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:38
i'd just say make a last minute £150 bid and see what happens, at £150 you can't go wrong for a near new manifold that retails at over £250

Emma_ZS
8th September 2007, 15:39
mmm i don't know lol.

Will it definately fit?

Its my brothers paypal :P

Baz
8th September 2007, 15:41
if it doesn't then just sell it back on, someone would buy it.

though i'd say it will fit right on!
