as above really. iv got an oil leak on the old vts but cant work out where its coming from. its not the cam oil seals and its not the cam ladders either. but there is oil all over the bottom end from the head downwards and its dripping off the adjuster for the fanbelt. is there anywhere else that the engine can leak oil from on the pulley side of the engine?

my head gasket has definatly gone but the oil was leaking way before that anyway.

please help!

Think ive got the same problem mate, got an oil leak and looks like its coming from the headgasket, but did a compression test and all was good.
Mine only leaks very slowly but the bottom end is covered in oil

Mines exactly the same mate.

Seeping slightly on the join between bead and bottom end just on the corner above the alternator.

Bottom end is absolutely filthy, sump is disgusting. Going to try and clean things up and halt the leak this weekend i hope.

Saxmaniac5 had the same problem, figured it was the headgasket, ran it for 20k plus berfore getting it sorted with no problems.

Once the gasket was changed the leak stopped and hasn't done it since.

This is a common thing with TU's..Near enough every TU engine i have seen has this slight leak..

My car has it too..It will only leak when the engine is driven from cold..When at operating temp it wont leak..Also its such a small leak i dont even notice a change in oil level tbh..

My car has been doing it for well over 30k and is still fine..:d

yer mine is exactly the same as all you lads! its quite a slow leak and the underneath of my car is covered!

also i need to sort it really because its going all over my drivers side brake disk. now my disk has warped from heavy breaking and the oil has affected it too.
