Would you reccomend it?

Keep getting the odd blow out of my joints on the exhaust...

Thinking of taking the full system off from, cleaning all the joints up and welding them up, the exhaust system is in very good condition, less than 12 months old...

Whats your thoughts on it?

Good or bad idea?

only reason i can think why not is of you have to remove it and transport it somewhere.

Firstly thanks for reply scott, I will be doing this work at my pals who is very good with the welder.

Spending sunday doing it, so....

Exhasut off from manifold
All joints sanded up and cleaned
Put back on
Welded up

How you mean remove it and transport it?

I've only been told not to on one other forum just incase one section rusts and needs replacing, but as said the exhaust is pretty new.

Thoughts?

is it a stainles exhaust or standard? If its standard mild steel personally i wouldnt bother for the reasons you have just said you would be forever chopping bits out of it to replace and reweld.

Transporting as in selling or if something snaps say at the front from hitting a speed bump and you have to take the exhaust off to get it home where are you going to put something so big

Its stainless from cat back Scott, from which there is two joints, one from back box and the other about half way...

I only here a blow in 3rd 4th, roughly about 4k rpm!

Its like a hiss!

Yeh you can lather it up with an exhaust putty, my old system was like that, need to get some more of the stuff for this one cus it hisses from one of the cat joints when i put my foot down at low revs. :y:

Ya see thats half the trouble scott, had a new stainless flex fitted and whilst it was there i said seal the joints...

When i got home the zorst was smothered in it, but over time (after floods) its perished and cracked, not worth a w@nk basically...

So looks like its def getting welded up, i'll post some pics up of progress.

Thanks for help!
