Hey guys
Just in process of getting GTI/VTS conv on my vtr, what BHP would i be expecting on following:
2002 GTI/VTS engine, full strip and re-build (blueprinted).. 4-2-1 manifold, full stainless system, green enclosed filter.. thanks..
Also, ive just bought rallye box, company is fitting this.. will i see much improved acceleration over VTS box?..
Cheers

I think the S has accel on a par with the Rallye iirc....
Just out of curiousity how much are you being charged for the conv? excluding parts?

rallye has totally different final drive to vts.
fitted an s2 box to my mates vts, could feel a difference.

cheers ppl.. yea id been told the rallye box will give me better acceleration but the top end will be affected.. but i wasnt too worried bout top end..
Not sure what fitting is costing on its own, my total bill is £3400-00 inc vat all in.. thats for following: -
2002 gti lump- totally stripped and rebuilt (blue printed)
rallye g/box inc sports clutch
4-2-1 manifold
green enclosed ind kit
spax coilovers
Big brake kit
cheers

no point in spax coilovers imo. can get better suspension kits for cheaper money

you want bigger pistons/more pistons to have a better braking set up imo.
283mm 2 piece disks and 4 pistons for the win in my case ;)

Series 1 or 2 rallye box? Makes a big difference...

not totally sure what make brake kit is, its not standard calipers.. Kit is larger discs uprated pads and different calipers.. All i know is they are the same as the guy uses on his 106 gti rally car and they cost £850-00..
What would you have suggested in regards to coilovers?.. just out of interest like cos ive already got and supplied him the spax ones.
cheers

dont see a point imo on a coilover kit, as the saxo only has 2 struts, so you dont have em all round, personally id just go for a set of billies with decent springs.

Oh well never mind got the coilovers now!.. think its a s2 box, but dont quote me onit.. the guys who are doing it are peugeot rally specialists so they'd be fitting whats best..
Any other small performance mods worth doin while engines stripped down?
