We are having a bit of trouble with my girlfriends Y-reg VTR. The engine light is coming on regularly, sometimes it hunts when idle, occasionally it misses like it's down on one cylinder.

We have taken it to an autoelectrician and retrieved the fault codes as follows:

P0300 - Cylinder missfire
P0301 - Cylinder 1 missfire
P0302 - Cylinder 2 missfire

Since then I have replaced the spark plugs (with new), and tried 2 other coil packs (second hand). But the same fault codes and problems are present!

Any ideas what I can try next?

try coil pack they tent to break down over age

misfiring can be caused by so many silly things

I've tried 2 other coil packs (second hand), but the same problem with each. Is it likely they all could be faulty?

spark plugs...

my saxo missfired.. and its cos i blew the spark plug heads straight off somehow.

Never mind missed the bit at the bottom...

Could it be a sensor somewhere?

ahh right so not like early saxo's with the coil pack an HT leads just the coilpack.

emm could there be a problem with the injectors??

I'll try some injectors then, and let you know how I get on.

Thanks

you could always take the injectors out an check if there actually injecting petrol

mind you not sure how ya do this or if that would cause those fault codes to come up just an idea lol let me know how u get on though
