running in engine

hey peeps.. presently havin vts/gti lump conversion.. to ppl in the know, and ppl who have had conversions. how shud i be running the engine in?.. miles etc...

wont the engine already run in? its the running in of everything working id have thought.

so if it running properly you should be fine

what hes trying to say as long as its not a brand new engine you dont need to run it in as its should already been 'ran' in

Well its been stripped down into pieces and built back up using new blue printed parts.. so wasnt sure if id have to run it in, before properly using it..

Yea i guess, just i never trust citroen!.. any dealings in the past ive had, theyve been unhelpful!.. few ppl ive spoken to have said gota do like 1000miles not exceeding like 4k rpm!!..

The temptation tho!!.. think its gona have to be wood under the accelerator pedal!

id do 200 miles not takin it ova 4k revs

when i had work done on my vtr he said run it in for 100 miles well it was 110 miles from my house.

so when i got home theres a dual carriage way behind my house it a 2mile long straight road and as i got 2 the roundabout i see a vts and thought il have a go and to my surprose beat him to 90mph

but it is very temptrin

yes citroen are shite but you could see what they say? ring a couple of citroen garages lol

i think josh on here had pretty much a full rebuild with bodies on his vts engine in his westy. could try him username jpsaxo

what about ringing gmc sure they would know more than citroen

try citroen tho, i mean i know most are idiots, but one of the guys at my local citroen is sound n talk to him alot bout stuff

cheers for the suggestions and advice guys, appreciate it.. just dont wana go spendin all this money and ruin it!!.. i guess i could ring guys at Carworx, as they do these conversions daily!

Ill just wear size 13's for abit, wont fit on pedals then!..
