Right the time has come at last to replace the standard. Im looking at cat-back systems and induction kits.

Im looking at the Gen2 K&N induction kits, and the BMC Inclosed Induction kits. Any good? Whats the performance increase like?

Im really stuck on what exhaust to get. What ever I get has to be a cat-back. I want something that looks good, and sounds good. I was considering a 4" Ashley Competition Exhaust but not sure what they sound like.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you really want your exhaust to scream YABBADABBADOO then you really should look into Supersprint ones as they're not too expensive, give good gains and sound good.

Kam-Racing is a good place to start. To be honest no-one can touch their YABBADABBADOO cheap prices and they've got really good customer service as well :)

Just had a look on the web site but cant find the cat back systems. I can find the supersprint centre sections, but no supersprint back boxes.

If I buy a centre section and a back box, will this be the same as a cat back?

ah. We took off the Supersprint backboxes when they restricted their range to just a 100mm round 'magnum' backbox. This was what pushed us to get the race backbox into production.. as I'm not a fan of big tailpipes

The race centre would fit from your manifold back. Then you need to pick a backbox. The piper ones fit onto the supersprint centre and they are a good option if you need something now.

Don't think any of those are on our site but I could get them up

Kam- thanks for the input. I sent a question from your site regarding the centre sections and back boxes but yet to get a reply.

Would the supersport centre decat my car though? I dont want to de-cat it cause of my MOT. I was talking to someone off here and Im sure he said that he bought the race centre section and it didnt decat the car as the cat is at the front and not under it. Is this correct?

And your piper 4" sngle exits only list for a VTS. Would they fit straight on to a 2001 VTR?

Well Ive decided on a supersprint centre section (not a de-cat), with a piper 4"

Just waiting for some info from Kam-Racing because the piper 4" listed on his site are listed as for VTS- so need to find out if he has them for VTR.

So hopefully getting them along with the BMC enclosed induction from him in next couple of days- cant wait :)

Thanks guys for ya help.

if the cat is in the manifold which it is for your car then the supersprint center section doesn't decat the car.

The Piper 4 inch will fit the VTR as well. They use the same exhaust systems.

Wondering with the setup of VTR's with the cat in the manifold then if you were to fit an aftermarket say Supersprint manifold and a new system then the cat would be changed to in the system not in the cat right?

Sounds stupid but i was thinking this and wanting to clear it up

I dont think so. I was looking at a raceland manifold/cat couple of months ago and it still came with the cat part of the manifold.

The cat isnt actually in the manifold so they can be seperated. The manifold has the 4 pipes that come off the engine, it goes to 2 pipes which go into a square base. The top of the cat is square aswell so the two flat square meet and have a metal gasket in the middle. These are then jus held together by 4 screws. The other end of the cat then jus has one pipe which goes under the car and meets the rest of the exhaust pipe.

I dont think theres any room for the cat to sit if it were to be moved under the car into the system like saxos with the under car cat either.

Im not changing the manifold or cat so not too sure.
