hi i have a 1.4 furio 8v mk2 and the rocker cover has two bolts which secures it to the head well i have just stupidly snapped one of the bolts, so basically i would like some advise on what to do.

is it possibly to drill and tap out then put a new screw with a thread on it?

any help would be great :y:

To my knowledge, the bolts are only case hardened, so if you can see the middle of the bolt, you should be able to just drill that out, as it'll be soft as shite.

Then i would just run a tap down it, to clean up the old threads.

Job done.

Or you could just try using a center punch and a little hammer and just try tapping the snapped stud around, so that it unscrews itself, although it depends how solid it is in the hole.

how much do you think it would cost for a garage to sort it and fit a rocker cover, and how long should it take them

you could quite easily do it yourself mate.

as said, drill the old bolt out, re-tap the hole, and thats it, job done.

whereabouts are you? a bet someone off here would help you out if you didn't feel confident about doing it.

did mine last week lol , if u take the hole rocker off you can take the thread out , and then order a new one from citroen for 80p , or just go to scrap yard and get one , its easy to do mate

buy a grabit tool, works in the same way as reversible drill bits but with better grip, you simply drill into the stud with one end and then swap over to the other end that does the grabbing
