Use 4 guage, simply disconnect the thickest wire on the alternator and replace it with the 4 guage cable and trace it all the way back to the battery

i've found this calculator and it says that a 4AWG is 21.0439 mm square. is that true?

aye mate it should be one of the easier jobs, just a case of tracing where the wire goes. While your doing that upgrade the battery earth to the chassis with the 4 guage as well

the alternator is on the left of the picture. it has two terminals. One is smaller than the other you want the larger one which has the thicker wire than the others, trace that wire it should return to the battery thats the one you want to replace.

Can I ask why you are upgrading the wiring for the alternator?
TYhe alternator is only capable of generating a certain current, which the existing wire is capable of handling safely... what advantage is there to renew it?

i thought about that, aswell...
later i'll get an diesel alternator, so i guess that's when i'm gonna need it. right?
