Please explain why you would want to do that!?

Be hardcore and go for a dry sump! ;)

Yeah why would you want to make it bigger?

I cant think of any advantage..lol

no advantage really to a larger sump, if you are suffering from oil starvation or surges at cornering speeds, then get a baffle kit.

the more oil in the sump the less work it has to do and stays at a better quality for longer, also helps with cooling as it will take longer to overheat 6L than it will 4L.
its easy to do, using another sump or just make it wider with the correct steel, i wouldnt make it deeper as it will be closer to the ground but can easily be made wider

agree 100% about the depth a nice deep sump = a nice broken sump in most cases from naff all clearance

You'd benefit more from a dry sump rather than having a larger capacity one.
The oil is actively pumped out the sump eliminating starvation issues and in the tall oil tank the air has a chance to be evacuated from the oil making it more efficient.

If you have cooling issues then those need to be address directly with an oil cooler. Having more oil sloshing about would not be a solution I'd entertain

i would rather have the dry sump but enlarging the sump is alot cheaper
i wouldnt use the larger sump as the only means of cooling, and air oil cooler is the best way but if you can weld enlarging the sump will be more or less free and wont hurt the engine, we fit alot of big wing sumps on the YB's

How much does a dry sump cost then?

nigh on a grand and a bit. not sure if there is an off the shelve option but if it were me i'd get pace to custom build one for the TU

if you can build the engine with the dry sump in mind you can reduce paracitic losses and improve bhp
