well for the last 2 month my saxo has got worse and worse
1st the mpg started geting worse and worse from 50mpg to what im geting at the moment 20mpg.

2nd if its under 2000 revs it wants to stall but above that it drives fine feels a lil bit faster than it used to be

3rd once its warmed up it will idle about 400 it wont stall but its very close. read this might be down to temp sensor true?

4th its started poping witch i have been told my cats gone. true? and would that make the rest of the problems?

5th the other day the gay was being relly shit every time i started it up the petrol pump didnt sound like it norm does could that be down to faul filter or blocked jet? but if it was any of thos 2 wouldnt that of helped my mpg?

some more info about car 1.1sx spi has done 25000 miles in the last 8 month things i have changed clutch' cam belt' fual air and oil filters' oil changed no performance mods to engine so any ideas on what my problem/s could be?

Well i'm not great at mechanical things but I believe there is a valve which you can use to adjust the idle revs? What does it idle at when the engine is still cold?

As for the popping thats a sign of over fueling I think which cuold be contributing to your poor mpg.

Can't help with any of the other issues i'm affraid but I don't think popping is a sign of your catalytic convertor having gone.

fuel filter or injectors could be the cause of the poor mpg, but also the coil pack or ht leads could be dying.

check the spark in each plug, see what thats like.

how could the fuel filter or injector make the mpg worse tho cos if thay where blocked thay would be leting less fuel in i for got to say i changed the leads and plugs to try fix these problem but still no luck

Is the car running on all cyclinders cos the poping could be down to that?

I'd change the coolant temperature sensor first as it's cheap. If that doesn't do it I'd say it's likely to be the lambda sensor

sounds like the lambada sensor to me also mate if you go on ebay they aint that much to buy or else you have a scrappy near you and take one off there cars mate.

have changed the temperature sensor and lambada sensor mpg have got a little better plus i have got some power back but when i rev the car it pops and stuters untill it gets to around 3000 revs then its all normal what could this be?

im thinking its the cat as the car has been over fualing for the last 3 months and i have heard that car brake the cat so if the cat is broke is it pos it collaspd(sp) in and is blocking the gases at low revs need help asap people rep waiting
