Hey mechanical peoples
Every now and then on a freezing cold morning i get a little squeak when i start the saxo & ocasionally again when i pull away if i let the revs drop below idle/1000rpm.
Sounds like a belt & the cam belt aint been done yet and 60k is approtching so im thinking sooner rather than snapped ;)
Anyone think my suspicions are correct? Rough Cost of a cam belt kit?
Cheers :)

Citroen will supply and fit the kit on a VTS for £180.

I had a problem slightly like that which turned out to be an aux belt which drives stuff like the power steering pump as it would slip and make a squeeking noise when turning the wheels a low rev's.
Might be worth trying to have both the cam and aux belts done at the same time mate :y:

£180 isnt too bad i suppose, was gonna have a bash myself :panic:
VTS Boy you might be right with that, the first couple times i noticed it was when i parked the wrong way so as soon as i started the car in the cold morning i had to u-turn, full lock job!

Thats what we're here for mate :y:
Make sure you get the year right if you order the parts yourself, when the garage done mine they said there was 2 different sizes when it came to the aux belt and wheels as it comes as a complete kit

why would you lubricate the auxilliary belt??? Just tighten it up a little, job done (assuming it isn't worn of course).

I had this problem a while ago. It was the fan belt (alternator belt). All i did was tighten it up a bit as it was a little loose. Worked like a dream!:y:

powersteering pump is electric.. so no pulley/belt.. lol..
just tighten the alternator belt. or replace it.. as it gets worn and loses contact with the pulleys..
mine squeeks.. but its the tensioner pulley bearings that do that.. :(

Havent had the car on the road since i started this but i think it was the alternator belt.
I'll see what i can do about tightening it up!
Cheers guys :)
