what do you think of them ??

im thinking of getting one for the green machine (i know its not a saxo) maybe the saxo but unsure, any good tryed and tested in the saxo !!!!

these are the figs -

The Freelander chip upgrade provides:
An increase in power of 27% = 120 BHP
An increase in torque of 30% = 200 lb/ft
Standard power of 95 – 97 BHP
Standard torque of 155 lb/ft

= £350 + vat

think that on a PSA engine theyre not worth it.

on diesel/turbo VAG and some fords they work well.

personally think a proper remap which is not universal but specific to your viehicle is much better

on a Freelander TD4 it should work really well IMO- heard diesels really benefit from them. But as said, remap to suit your exact vehicle is better.

Not sure ^^^ but is a BMW 2.0ltr common rail diesel !

the saxo has got some under bonnet mods to come, not looking for massive power but make it easier throughout the range and hope to gain some mpg (getting around 37mpg combined)

so a remap would be better for both rather than a powerchip ?!?!

remap miles better on the saxo, by far, you can specify what you want.

dont know about the freelander. best speaking to mappers seeing what they feel they could do to one.

ah didnt know that !!!! we've got a piper cam 285 or 287 but still need to get the belt and pulley for the saxo !!!!

the freelander is harb to get info on on some of the forums im in its termed " not a real landy" and most companys do the full range and not the Td4 so thats why i thought ied ask on here !!!!!

dont get a pooperchip if getting a piper 285 thats for sure. you will want a map specific for your engine set up when running a cam.

for the freelander I'd recommend going to an authorised SuperChips dealer man, you'll get the car rolling roaded before the map and aftewards (as they fettle the replacement chip on the fly to get the maximum sensible gains from the engine). which will allow the chip to be mapp'd to your specific engine characteristics and also to see the benefits acheived.

well worth it from the reviews i've seen.

`not all superchips dealers do that. probably only if you go to superships or pay more for it. you dont even need a rolling road to become a superships dealer as its not the dealer that creates the map. its superchips themselves.

diesel usally benefit well from chipping/remaps i mean look at the vag tdi lumps you can get about 170bhp just from chipping

inherently stronger design of the engines and tolerance factors on the componentry means there is plenty of slack than can be taken up in terms of upping the output.

fueling and boost pressure on zee turbo. its pretty impressive for defo

ring only, dont email them. Johns a bit of a moody old scot lol! but the quality of work/reputation is one of the best known to man when it comes to PSA tuning.

yeah, ive had 1 before. the dealer can just tell superchips your mods and they will email the dealer a map that they think is right. then they write it to the chip and fit it to your car. thats if they dont haev rollers though, if they do they run the car, email superchips the graphs (hp, torque, afr) and superchips will send an adjusted map back, repeating the process till its right.
