got a quote of a local mechanic who does a lot of saxos today for a vts conversion of £1500.
that includes supplying engine to vts box including everything in between and fitting.
is this a good quote or not?

yeah i may soce money doing that but would be a bit silly as the guy who would do it breaks saxos so he could get the parts easily saving me the hassle.

Sounds alright that, considering the work! seen as 1 of my mates got quoted £25 to change his wheels over, and £25 to fit a backbox

not a bad price but as stated above if you found the engine yourself am sure you could knock it down till around about £1000 mate saving a cool £500!!!

thats the thing though im not very mechanically minded but would like to learn. but i dont wanna mess it all up trying to do an engine conversion if i cant tell the ecu from the battery if you know what i mean! also i can supply some of the parts from work for very cheap but for the engine and ecu etc id prefer if they did it!
