i was thinking of maybe doing an engine conversion in my vtr. the block i am strongly considering is a 2.0vts engine with goes in the xsara i think. will this fit in a saxo? as it has 167bhp standard.
plus has anyone else done it on here?

yes it will fit as i am saving up for a gti-6 engine to go in mine, it takes a lot of work tho

yes it will fit but as frankie said it will cost you big buck ! also if you run a 6 speed gearbox there is a lot of problems to go with them such as the box sticking out to far so will probs be best to run a 5 speed !

This is how tight it is in a 106.Its not worth the money to do it if a garage is fitting it imo.Its alot of money like 5k and alot of other things need to be changed for what you get out of it,it dosent seem worth it imo.

For that price you could have a Zcars conversion with a VTECH or even a hayabusa turbo!!!!!! 0 to 60 in 3 secs!

it will be a very good conversion if you can afford it - though i'd look at fitting throttlebodies and an aftermarket ecu to make the job simpler. If the vts engine was lightweight i'd worry it would ruin the handling but the conversion will add about 25kg to the car and as you will have the battery in the boot its somewhat negated. You would be stupid to fit a 6 speed box - you wont be able to turn sharp corners and its about 10kg heavier than the 5 speed.
That conversion will be good for 200bhp with no other mods with the potential for a lot more.

if the lad went through with the plan.....and did all the N/A Mods....what power roughly? i know....how long is a piece of string...but i quite like the idea of a 2.0 saxo lol vts engine :y:
