You lose torque when you decat your car i think?

however youll notice your car revs more freely.

I use a decat pipe.

it pops. it bangs.

So a de-cat is not better for performance?

im a noob, but surly if it revs freely it will mean it will have more torque?

im also not sure on this aswel, my exhaust is pretty loud already not sure wether ti makes them well louder or not?

Surely it doesnt lose torque. Getting rid of the cat means the gases are being realsed quicker, so when you put your foot down more gas is able to escape in the same time that a car with a cat in does. I think you should get it de-cated, but just remember that it will fail the MOT. My de-cat manifold is being put on soon, with a supersprint race centre section. You do realise though that to de-cat your Mk2 you will need to get a new manifold whatever you do as well.

Is this correct that I need a new manifold, even though I'm pretty sure my cat is in the exhaust?

It is a W REG 2000 model

Mine is the 2nd one on there

cat in exhaust right?

W reg should have the 90bhp engine with cat under car!

a de-cat pipe on my car is easy to fit and remove right!

"Wrong - it's not illegal to decat a car. Yes it won't pass an MOT. Failing a roadside emmissions test isn't the end of the world though - you have 7 days to slap the cat back on and get it retested before you're fined"

Is that ^ correct?

Hi mate, take yur pic of centre pipes really, as far as loosing the CAT is concerned, best thing you can do is get it on the dyno before and get it on the dyno after, as i'm yet to see any proven figures. Or, wait until feb and i'll have figures for

Before and After CAT
Before and After Filter
Before and After CAMS
Before and After Head Work
Etc.

decat = good imo, only reason iv got my cat on atm is because it has mot soon so i might aswell not piss about with it since i have a whole center section and not just a decar pipe.

if your just lookin for a decat pipe, get one, and if u dont like it, its easy enough to take off again :)
