The 2.0 8v was used in the previous mk3 Golf GTi which was a real Slug, in the Ibiza I wouldn't expect it to be THAT much quicker. No idea what mods are done to the cars engines etc but standard vs standard a Puggy GTi will kill it (stripped or not), straights and bends :)

i personally think the GTi will take it. depends how stripped we are talking aswell... completly gutted, or just removed the back seats.

Ibiza 2.0 8v only has 115bhp and very poor traction, Pug is lighter, more powerful and better chassis set-up. In my experiece the pre-Cupra Ibiza GTi's are pretty average, for a 2.0 not very impressive tbh. Not saying they're slow, but if driven right a 106 GTi should comfortably have it.

the 2.0 16v model would prob be about even 1/4 mile, off the line the Pug.

then the Ibiza will pull and catch up.
